Update on Freedom Wireless Trial
Boston Communications Group, Inc. , previously announced that the non-jury trial to consider the Company's unenforcability defense in the patent infringement lawsuit brought by Freedom Wireless, Inc. against the Company commenced in the U.S. District Court in Massachusetts on June 7, 2005. On June 13, 2005, the presiding judge suspended the non-jury trial and ordered mediation between the Company and the other co-defendants in the lawsuit and Freedom Wireless, Inc. In the event that the mediation is unsuccessful and the parties are unable to reach a settlement, the non-jury trial is currently scheduled to resume on July 14, 2005 and could last approximately one to two weeks after it commences.

Lenovo and IBM Research Research Triangle Park

Open Document Becomes OASIS Standard

Forum Systems Integrates Computer Associates Protection
Web services security pioneer Forum Systems on Monday announced plans to add virus protection to its flagship XML Firewall product. Forum Systems Inc., of Salt Lake City, will partner with Computer Associates International Inc. to integrate CA's eTrust anti-virus scanning engine with its Forum XWall Web Services Firewall. The deal paves the way for what is being described as 'industrial-strength protection' against viruses, worms and other malware that can penetrate corporate networks through XML and SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) documents, according to Forum Systems chief executive Wes Swenson. Forum's XWall Web Services Firewall already offers protection against XML attacks according to the WS-I Profile and ensures WSDL Access Control and XML Schema Restriction. With CA's eTrust scanning engine, the company now will add a new module called Forum XAV (XML Antivirus) to filter scan any XML and SOAP document and their file attachment.

Tokyo's Two Space Co., Ltd., has developed the Office Storage Hub, to provide the linking of corporate and office data created in Microsoft Office within a network environment. Official worldwide sales of Office Storage Hub will begin in May 2005. Microsoft Corporation plans worldwide release of its next operating system ('Longhorn') with web support functions and other features in 2006. In response to this, Two Space focused on the popular Microsoft Office (MS- Office) and explored possibilities of allowing its many users to easily convert documents made with the most familiar applications -- Excel, Word, Access, etc. -- to the XML (eXtensible Markup Language) format.
