Rogue Wave to Speak at the 2008 JavaOne Conference
Panel Session Will Focus on SCA and Its Role With Java & C++ Technology-Based SOA Development

Digg This!

BOULDER, CO -- (MARKET WIRE) -- 05/06/08 -- Rogue Wave Software, Inc., the leader in enterprise class C++ components and infrastructure, today announced that Patrick Leonard, Vice President, Engineering and Product Strategy, will be a panel member at the 2008 JavaOne Conference. The panel session, "Open Standards for SOA and Java(TM)," will take place on Wednesday, May 7 at 4:10 PM in the Moscone Center-Gateway 102/103. The discussion will address questions about the Service Component Architecture (SCA) standard and its relationship to Java and C++ technology-based SOA development. Of particular interest to Rogue Wave customers is how these standards can assist with parallel computing for high-performance applications.

"Many enterprises are focusing on transforming their IT assets into reusable services and how to leverage the benefits of agility and flexibility of an SOA without sacrificing high performance," said Leonard, one of the leading creators of SCA products and a member of the steering committee for the SCA standard at the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS), the focal point for development of the SCA specification. "With the next stage of hardware slated to come out, the SCA standard provides an excellent programming model for moving service-based applications to multi-core hardware and being able to tap the leap in performance."

Leonard will be taking questions alongside other leaders in SCA including: David Chappell, VP and Chief Technologies, SOA, Mike Edwards of IBM, Steve Jones of Capgemini UK, Mark Little of RedHat, Sanjay Patil of SAP AG, Michael Rowley of BEA Systems, Scott Vorthmann of TIBCO Software Inc. and Peter Walker of Sun Microsystems, Inc. Rogue Wave's HydraSCA is the first commercially available run-time that supports the SCA specification for multiple programming languages including Java and C++, enabling a repeatable model for service enablement in high-performance application environments.
