Coldwater Creek Powers Move to Enterprise SOA With SAP
Triple-Channel Retailer Selects SAP NetWeaver(R) as a Standalone Platform to Fuel Business Process Innovation, Reduce IT Complex

Digg This!

CHICAGO, May 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SAP AG today announced that Coldwater Creek , a leading specialty women's apparel retailer in the U.S., will adopt the SAP NetWeaver(R) platform as the strategic foundation to drive immediate cost savings by simplifying integration efforts and align around an enterprise service-oriented architecture (enterprise SOA) to create agility and flexibility across the organization. In an increasingly competitive environment in which retailers are looking to reduce operational costs while increasing customer value and improving margins, Coldwater Creek has selected SAP NetWeaver to provide one common platform for composing new business processes, seamlessly integrating applications and supporting flexible business strategies. The announcement was made at Retail Systems 2006 Conference and Exposition, being held in Chicago, Illinois, May 21-24.

Coldwater Creek conducted an extensive search of business software providers to address its business needs, as the company continues to expand its multi-channel enterprise. As Coldwater Creek adds new retail stores, pursues brand and line extensions and continues its excellent customer service, the company is looking for an experienced partner to provide the necessary technology, tools and retail expertise to gain and sustain a competitive advantage. With more than 3,200 retailers worldwide running SAP applications, SAP was the clear choice to help Coldwater Creek focus completely on its customers while cutting costs and enabling growth.

"We chose to work with SAP because of the quality of the SAP NetWeaver platform and SAP's focus on retail, said Dan Moen, senior vice president and chief information officer, Coldwater Creek. "SAP has continually demonstrated professionalism and dedication to our success as a valued customer. We look forward to a successful partnership."

Coldwater Creek purchased SAP NetWeaver as a powerful platform that delivers a business-focused infrastructure to support its non-SAP applications. SAP NetWeaver allows for ease of deployment of both SAP and non- SAP retail solutions to support ongoing growth opportunities.

"We understand that retail has changed -- it is a complex business with changing rules," said Jim McMurray, senior vice president, Retail, SAP America, Inc. "Retailers need the ability to quickly adapt and innovate their businesses to continue to create value for their own customers. SAP NetWeaver addresses this need as it allows companies such as Coldwater Creek to flexibly and rapidly design, implement and execute new business strategies and processes."
