Dutton will be responsible for strategic planning, business development and management of key functions for the region

VMware has tapped Andrew Dutton to run its Asia Pacific and Japan business. It pulled the Australian out of CA where he was undoubtedly leading a more pedestrian if busy life as senior vice-president and general manager of international business, responsible for sales and business operations throughout EMEA, Asia Pacific and Japan.

Dutton will be responsible for strategic planning, business development and management of key functions for the region, including sales, channels, services, finance and marketing. He reports to Carl Eschenbach, EVP, worldwide field operations.

Dutton has done turns at BEA Systems EMEA working out of London and IBM Software Group Asia Pacific based in Tokyo.
