EVANS, W.Va., Nov. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- Santa's Forest, a cut-your-own Christmas tree farm started by a successful silviculturalist, or forest expert, over thirty years ago, is under new ownership with the founders of FreshChristmasTree.com (http://www.freshchristmastree.com/), an online company that delivers fresh-cut Christmas trees to customers across the U.S.
Past retirement age, Santa's Forest founder John Cooper sought new owners to take over his tree farm. In 2007, he found the perfect team and sold the farm to Washington, D.C.-based entrepreneurs Luke and Jenna Wilbur, owners of FreshChristmasTree.com.
"John Cooper's dream of families gathering around a tree from Santa's Forest lives on through our company and website," says Luke Wilbur, co-founder of FreshChristmasTree.com. "We are proud to carry on his legacy by providing quality products to families near and far."
The Wilburs have expanded Santa's Forest by merging their successful mail-order business with the traditional tree farm. Though the farm formally changed hands, Cooper - a former president of the West Virginia Christmas Tree Association and a representative to the National Christmas Tree Association - has stayed on as a consultant, passing along his expertise on land and forest management.
Santa's Forest and FreshChristmasTree.com sell a variety of trees, including Scotch pine, balsam fir, Canaan Valley fir, Colorado (blue) spruce, Fraser fir, and white pine. Wreaths, garland, tree stands, centerpieces, Christmas balls and ornaments are also available at FreshChristmasTree.com.
FreshChristmasTree.com strives to ship each tree the day it's cut, and customers can conveniently choose the delivery date they want the tree to arrive at their home.
"Christmas trees from local retailers are cut as early as October," says Luke Wilbur. "The trees from FreshChristmasTree.com arrive soon after being cut, guaranteeing they'll remain healthy well past Christmas day."
