"EDS congratulates Scott for his victory of the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship," said Ron Rittenmeyer, president and chief operating officer of EDS. "We are honored to award Scott with this custom motorcycle, which gives him his own piece of PGA TOUR history. Hopefully it will make his victory this week even more memorable."
When asked about winning the motorcycle, Verplank said, "Wow! Not sure I'm big enough or strong enough, but it's going to be a heck of a trophy."
Orange County Choppers, one of the world's premier builders of custom motorcycles, built two additional identical choppers themed after the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. EDS donated one of the choppers to an online auction to benefit Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers, the charity of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship. The third chopper will be retained by EDS and used to raise awareness of the EDS Byron Nelson Championship and the charity it supports.
In addition to the motorcycle auction, EDS is auctioning a customized Ultimate Golf Ball Frenzy pinball machine, which has an OCC theme and was autographed by the Teutuls and more than 130 of the PGA TOUR players in the 2007 EDS Byron Nelson Championship.
EDS will donate all proceeds from the online auctions to Salesmanship Club Youth and Family Centers. The auctions close Wednesday, May 2 at 7:00 p.m. CDT. For more information, or to place a bid on these unique auction items, visit http://www.eds.com/auction.
