"Lexmark is focused on delivering innovative laser products and solutions that help customers get more done," said Paul Rooke, Lexmark executive vice president and president of its Printing Solutions and Services Division. "Our entire line of monochrome and color laser printer and multifunction products has been recognized for technology leadership over the past year, and we are pleased that we are continuing to receive this important industry recognition."
Lexmark's color laser offerings include the Lexmark C500n and the Lexmark C530 series for small workgroups and businesses, the Lexmark C770 and C772 series for larger workgroup customers and the Lexmark C920 series for workgroup customers who need A3 ledger printing capabilities.
Lexmark C500n and C530 series
The Lexmark C500n is designed for customers who print high volumes of monochrome documents but also want access to color printing capabilities. It prints at speeds up to 31 pages per minute (ppm) in monochrome and eight ppm in color for $349*. The Lexmark C530 series offers high-quality performance at affordable prices, printing at speeds up to 24 ppm in monochrome and 22 ppm in color for prices starting at $499*.
Better Buys recently recognized the Lexmark C530 color laser printer series with an Editor's Choice award, which is its top award. Better Buys called the C530 series "another Lexmark breakthrough in speed and price for color laser printing," and also praised the C530 series for its extensive set of color-printing controls.
The Lexmark C530 series also received an "Excellent" rating from CNET.com and is listed as one of the site's favorite printers for under $500. The Lexmark C500n color laser is also on the same list and received a "Very Good" rating from CNET.com.
CNET.com described the Lexmark C530 as "a fast, high-quality color laser printer that we recommend for any small office or home with high-volume printing needs" and also praised the series for its environmental features. "Lexmark also has taken laudable steps to improve the eco-friendliness of its laser printers -- by reducing power consumption and material waste -- which benefits both your pocketbook and the environment, a move we applaud," CNET.com said.
Lexmark C770 and C772 series
The Lexmark C770n series is ideal for cost-conscious customers who do not require additional paper handling options and print modest volumes of monochrome and color documents. It offers speeds up to 25 ppm in both monochrome and color at prices starting at $899*. The Lexmark C770n received a four-star rating from PC Magazine. "[The C770n] focuses on all the right issues for its target audience, providing excellent speed, high-quality text and graphics, high-capacity toner cartridges, and good paper handling, with ample capacity," PC Magazine said.
For workgroups that want the same performance as the C770 but need a wide variety of paper input and media handling options, are interested in adding a scanner option for multifunction capabilities or want to take advantage of a lower cost per page with high-yield cartridge options, the Lexmark C772 series is available for prices starting at $1,299*.
Better Buys gave both the C770 and C772 series Editor's Choice awards. "[These are] capable color printers that offer serious production capacity at a moderate price," Better Buys said.
Lexmark C920 series
The Lexmark C920 series offers powerful performance, as well as A3 ledger and 11.6-inch by 36-inch banner sheet printing capability, delivering speeds up to 32 ppm in color and 36 ppm in monochrome for prices starting at $2,749*. The C920 series was also named Editor's Choice by Better Buys for the second year in a row. "Lexmark has a growing reputation for quality and great features, and we're pretty enthusiastic about the C920 family," Better Buys said. "The price points are especially attractive, and these models are worthy competitors to machines from OKI, Ricoh and Xerox."
