Composite Software announced today an on-line certification program for the Composite Information Server, the company’s flagship and industry-leading data virtualization solution.
The Composite Information Server Specialist Certification consists of an online exam designed to test overall knowledge of data virtualization and the Composite Information Server, and is administered by Composite Software. It is suggested prospective certification candidates should have completed one full development cycle for a data virtualization project where the Composite Information Server was the instrumental technology used. The 90 minute certification exam covers the following areas:
- Installation
- Data Sources
- Caching
- Transformations and XML
- Security
- Query Engine Optimization
- Administration
- General SQL Questions
"We are excited about the Composite Information Server Certification Program. This program helps to distinguish professionals who are truly qualified to succeed on data virtualization projects,” said Duane Lyons, Partner, Information Transformation for Infosys, a Composite Software strategic partner. “We believe Infosys has strong consultants in this area ready to help customers advance."
Data Virtualization Adoption on the Rise
In a recent survey conducted by TDWI for its recently published Best Practices Report Achieving Greater Agility with Business Intelligence, 19 percent of respondents have deployed data virtualization or federation solutions to address agility requirements with BI, analytics, and data warehousing systems with another 31 percent planning to implement.
According to David Stodder, TDWI director of TDWI Research for business intelligence and author of the report, unified information access (UIA) tools and data integration middleware are bringing together the heretofore separate worlds of structured, semi structured, and unstructured data for use in business intelligence and advanced analytics. “Our research indicates data virtualization is giving IT new options for providing faster access while also performing necessary profiling, quality, and governance steps on data as it is accessed from multiple sources,” Stodder said.
“We are experiencing great demand for our data virtualization educational and training services and are pleased to introduce this self-service certification program which enables our customers to virtually test out their data virtualization and Composite skill sets,” said Rick Schreiber, VP, Worldwide Technical Field Operations at Composite Software.
Composite Software, Inc. is the data virtualization market leader. The Composite Data Virtualization Platform’s streamlined approach to data integration helps organizations gain more insight from their data, respond faster to ever changing analytics and BI needs, successfully evolve their data management approach and save 50-75 percent over data replication and consolidation.
