EL DORADO HILLS, Calif., March 5, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Forte Holdings, a leading healthcare software provider in the United States, reminds customers to make sure they have a NEMSIS Gold certified software.
The National Emergency Medical Services Information System (NEMSIS) is the national repository that stores EMS data from every state in the nation. NEMSIS is a national effort to standardize the data collected by EMS agencies. Since the 1970s, the need for EMS information systems and databases has been well established, and many statewide data systems have been created. However, these EMS systems vary in their ability to collect patient and systems data and allow analysis at a local, state and national level. For this reason, the NEMSIS project was developed to help states collect more standardized elements and eventually submit the data to a national EMS database.
The NEMSIS Technical Assistance Center has established a policy to only disclose those software packages that have successfully completed the compliance testing process. iPCR has been fully Gold compliance certified by the National Emergency Medical Services Information System, meaning users may collect and export data without fear of deviating from the NHTSA Version 2.2.1 EMS Dataset and XML standards.
