Ole’s talk, “7 Habits of Highly Effective APIs,” will highlight the seven major challenges and best practices for building successful high quality APIs. The talk includes necessary key decisions for the entire inception-to-operations process as well as consequences including usability, security, versioning, choice of technology, metadata and more. Ole is co-creator of SoapUI, the most used testing software solution in the world, acquired by SmartBear in 2011. He also co-founded base8, an XML oriented consulting company in 1996, acquired by Mogul. Ole worked as CTO and lead evangelist for Mogul’s software portfolio.
Lorinda’s talk, “The Ugly Head of Third Party APIs,” provides suggestions in dealing with building apps or APIs on top of existing APIs, which presents unique challenges for both development and operations, and highlights how to handle third party APIs efficiently for a killer end user experience. For more than 25 years, Lorinda has worked in various management roles in the high tech industry including customer service, quality assurance and engineering. She has led numerous technical teams at various companies, including RR Donnelley, EMC, Kayak Software, Exit41, Intuit and others.
The API Strategy Conference will be attended by leading API technologists, strategists and technology providers.
