Autonomy's aggrieved co-founder Mike Lynch, who's smarting under HP's stinging accusations of fraud in connection with its overpriced $11.1 billion acquisition of his company, has set up a web site at autonomyaccounts.org to tout his claims about the mess and hit back at HP.
Lynch, who maintains the problems all come from HP mishandling the acquisition, says, "The site provides relevant information pertaining to the accusations made by Hewlett-Packard (HP) on 20 November 2012 of financial impropriety at Autonomy. The former management team of Autonomy strongly rejects the accusations made by HP...This site is designed to be a public point of contact for Dr Mike Lynch and other former managers at Autonomy with the wider world. It will contain information about Autonomy and any public statements made on behalf of the former management team related to these issues. The Autonomy team are committed to providing clear and transparent information during this process, and would like to see the issue resolved as quickly as possible."

There's not much there that has been heard before, but Lynch is evidently hunkering down for a long fight.
HP last month took an $8.8 billion write-off on account of Autonomy and CEO Meg Whitman blamed "serious accounting irregularities." She said the results of an HP investigation, started when an Autonomy whistleblower informed, were turned over to regulators in the US and UK. The FBI has also been called in.
When Lynch sent HP an open letter last week challenging HP to detail its accusations, HP retorted that "We look forward to hearing Dr. Lynch and other former Autonomy employees answer questions under penalty of perjury."
She also said "We remain 100% committed to Autonomy's industry- leading technology and its employees." At its Discover conference, this week HP released new Autonomy software. It also updated its Vertica Analytics Platform.
