NEW BRITAIN, Conn., Nov. 27, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- VERTEX, Incorporated, a provider of professional services and innovative software to the insurance and financial services industries, announces the release of version 2.0 of their XML Compare Utility Service, VTXcompare™. VTXcompare 2.0™, licensed as a web-based service, improves upon the underlying data driven compare engine. VERTEX listened to its users and focused efforts on gaining efficiencies within our business intelligent compare engine. A major advancement users will immediately notice is file comparisons will complete 80% faster than before. In addition, entity recognition rules were honed for the comparison of PPfA (Product Profile for Annuities – ACORD message 1201) and the DPfA/DPfL (Distributor Profile for Annuities and Life – ACORD message 1204) XML files. Enhancements were also made to the Excel report created by our tool, making it easier to read and more business friendly.

Businesses who exchange information electronically often use XML and the Internet because it is less costly than building internal systems and data feeds to each of their external partners. If the data changes in a manner not expected the XML-based exchanges can be susceptible to risk. If left undetected, a change that is incorrect has the ability to negatively impact the business, reduce confidence between exchange partners, and increase technology costs. Isolating the actual change before it is externalized, and reporting the change in Business English, alleviates the risk and ensures the XML data exchange is reliable.
VERTEX's XML Compare Utility Service, VTXcompare™, is designed to mitigate risks that are inherent to changes in data. Most XML compare products in the marketplace today do not account for the flexible nature of XML where the same data can be represented in many ways. It's difficult to determine when two XML documents differ only in semantics which are acceptable differences that do not impose business risk. VTXcompare only reports on unacceptable differences that impose business risk and presents the differences in business terms rather than XML speak.
