NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 11/27/12 -- MultiTouch Ltd. today announced the launch of its 42" and 55" MultiTaction® multitouch displays that are fully integrated with Windows 8. The new MultiTaction® Cell 42" (MT420W8) and 55" (MT550W8) with embedded Windows 8 on Intel Core i7 are the first large format displays with a built-in touch user interface. The cells are also the industry's first interactive displays supporting simultaneous use of unlimited touch, Windows 8 native pen tracking and real-life object interaction.
With the Windows 8 compatibility, MultiTaction® displays are well-positioned for clients seeking large, integrated Windows 8 devices, particularly for public spaces. Both the 42" and 55" displays allow clients to run applications from the Windows 8 store, the same applications that run on smartphones, tablets, laptops and desktop PCs. In addition, developers can also use their preferred development platforms using industry standard interfaces such as TUIO and XML streams. MultiTouch's proprietary Cornerstone SDK is also fully supported.

"Our products provide the most advanced set of touch and object recognition capabilities. We continue to be the leader in the interactive display market by now supporting the Windows 8 platform."
With support for multiple simultaneous input methods and robustness in bright external lighting conditions, the 42" and 55" models are ideal for education, retail and corporate use. Unique features for Windows 8 include:
- Unlimited number of concurrent users and touches
- 200+ fps tracking
- Windows 8 native infrared pen support
- Windows 8 native finger-orientation information
- Enriched Reality: interaction with physical objects
42" and 55" are currently available for order.
