Accent on Integration® (AOI®), a leading provider of integration software and patient care device (PCD) connectivity solutions, today announced it was selected to participate in the HIMSS12 Interoperability Showcase™, which features interoperable, standards-based technology solutions for the healthcare industry. At the Interoperability Showcase, AOI will leverage its integration platform, Accelero Connect®, to filter real-time data from PCDs, including vital signs monitors, low acuity monitors, ventilators, and infusion pumps, and automatically feed the information into an EMR.
In order to demonstrate Accelero Connect at the HIMSS12 Interoperability Showcase, AOI was required to participate in and pass the IHE North America Connectathon 2012, which tests the interoperability of healthcare IT systems and related devices that are sold as commercial products and implemented in real-world healthcare settings. At Connectathon, AOI successfully tested IHE Technical Framework actors in Device Enterprise Communication (DEC) and Consistent Time (CT) profiles.
“AOI is honored to have worked alongside other forward-thinking healthcare IT providers at Connectathon, and we look forward to further expanding the reach of data sharing technologies at HIMSS. Solutions like Accelero Connect provide a cost-effective way for healthcare organizations to interconnect disparate systems, streamline processes and improve patient care,” said Marc C. Andiel, co-founder, president and CEO of AOI. “At HIMSS, we will demonstrate how integration solutions are instrumental in helping facilities maximize the value of their healthcare technologies and achieve the very highest in patient care standards.”
By connecting disparate systems and automating data capture, Accelero Connect gives clinicians easier access to the data they need, streamlines workflow and reduces the opportunity for documentation errors to occur. Accelero Connect utilizes the most common methods for exchanging clinical data, including HL7 and MLLP protocol, in addition to Web services, such as XML exchange and service bus architecture.
“Many facilities understand the importance of systems and data integration, but they don’t always have the time and resources to undertake large IT projects, such as integrating medical devices with information systems or connecting their HIS to an HIE,” said Andiel. “AOI recognizes this need, and it is our mission to provide powerful integration solutions and consulting services that help our customers achieve more seamless access to important patient information, enable more longitudinal patient records and improve quality of care.”
AOI will demonstrate its integration platform, Accelero Connect, in booth #11000 at the HIMSS12 Interoperability Showcase Feb. 21-23, in Las Vegas. For more information about AOI or to schedule a demo at HIMSS, send an e-mail to info@aoi.biz.
