Magic Software Releases uniPaaS Version 1.5 with .NET Rich Internet Client

Magic Software has announced the release of uniPaaS version 1.5, the company's flagship Rich Internet Application (RIA) and SaaS Enabled Application Platform (SEAP), designed to allow organizations to develop and deploy applications in approximately one-fifth of the time and effort it takes other technologies. The new release includes a migration utility for legacy application versions and a native .NET Rich Internet Application Client that allows users to take full advantage of .NET capabilities to provide a richer and more powerful user experience.

Aptana Releases Jaxer 1.0 AJAX Server

Aptana has announced the 1.0 release of Aptana Jaxer and the introduction of Jaxer Pro, both “AJAX servers” that let developers create entire web applications using the ubiquitous set of languages common to web browsers: JavaScript, DOM, CSS, and HTML. To achieve this, Jaxer embeds the open source Mozilla Firefox browser engine within a server so that developers can have the same execution environment on the application server as they have in the web browser – a simplification of web technologies that reduces complexity in the development and management of web applications. Jaxer is free, open source software. Jaxer Pro provides the same technology under a commercial license with support from Aptana.

ILOG has announced that it has been designated by International Data Corporation as the Business Rule Management Systems market leader in the October 2008 report “Worldwide Business Rules Management Systems 2008 – 2012 Forecast and 2007 Vendor Shares”. AJAXWorld delegates today saw a no-slides, code-only presentation that started with a blank directory and built a data-driven, AJAX enabled, ASP.NET web application from scratch that implemented common AJAX patterns with the rich set of AJAX Control Toolkit, accessed data with LINQ, and implemented standards-based styling and layout using CSS and clean HTML. Brad also presented the new features of ASP.NET 3.5 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2008 and how they integrated together to provide the world's most productive web development experience. This session used the 100% free .NET Framework and Visual Studio tools, and the resulting application worked with all browsers, Safari, Firefox and, of course, IE.
